Favourites

I decided to put a window here to highlight one of my recent favs. I am amazed every day by what I see on dA. Just want to share the joy!

Wishlist

I love this stuff!
Also, I'd like this- [link] -but it's not exactly something I can get through dA so I can't put it on my wishlist officially. But I still want it.

From MY Perspective Contest Winners
First What I deal with Every part in the body deals with something, one can't afford to be idle in such a busy system. I've got friends in all places...my best friends are Right and Left Lungs though. Naturally, since we work together all the time. I'd be pretty useless without them. Sometimes Stomach is friendly, although he's a real moody one down there. True, he deals with a lot of responsibility. The last time a virus came in and made it to Small Intestine - which is a real misnomer, because she isn't small at all - all the Immune System has been accusing him. He's been fairly cranky. Not that anyone actually gets along well with anyone from Immune System. They

Special Mentions Story From Below How dark a soft sheet can get when the night falls, yet as the sun rises the lights breaks through and dear companions can see each other once again.

"You awake, Tootsie?" said Footsie, Mildred's left foot.

"Agh! No, I'm still asleep. Agh! The tingling! Why must Milly fold her legs so?" replied Tootsie referring to Mildred by the nickname she gave her.

"Well, you better wake up soon, we're headed to the carpet; looks like I'm going down first. See you below!", Footsie's voice trailed off as she was lowered to the floor.

The feel of the carpet between the toes is a rather lovely feeling in the morning. Footsie and Tootsie seem to enjoy it

Bring Me to Life Contest Winners!
(bring an inanimate object to life through your poetry!)
1st place Feeling It started as a twitch
an itch
a tickle on the base of my single arm.
There it is again! Just
a tiny little pin prick of feeling.
Feeling
Feeling
I'm feeling. And I can feel
the heat inside me
coming from the tea
that was poured mere seconds before.
Feeling
Feeling
I can feel fingers grasp my arm
Pulling up, tugging, higher
higher
into the air.
Cold air tickles on my porcelain white
skin, cools the hot tea till it is
just right.
And then lips kiss me,
hug tight to me and I
am tipping, falling
towards my holder.
And for a moment, I am
loved, hugged tight by two
warm hands that cradle
cuddle
bring me closer for a

2nd place Mending Fences They called me a fence,
and built me up strong
with hammers and nails and wood
To keep them all safe,
dividing their lines,
all day and all night, there I stood.

They called me a wall
and pounded my sides,
berating and cursing my name
They peered through my peepholes
and tried to get past
though both of my sides were the same.

They called me a barrier
and used me for war,
drawing weapons, they climbed o'er my wall
The other side snarled
and did just the same,
so both, in their anguish, did fall

They now call me nothing
for both sides are dead,
I stand over rubble and bone
I silently watched
as each side fell apart

3rd place the lonely mattress i remember a time
oh how i remember a time
when you never left me alone
morning, noon & night

when you'd come to me with a bounce
in those days it didn't matter if i was untidy or not
you used me every day
sometimes i even lost count

oh what stories i could tell
i remember the perfume
i remember the heat
the lingering scent left behind

all that's only memories
but when i think about it .....
there were good times and there were bad ones too
i also remember the cold and i remember your tears

i've sat here a very long time
wondering as i do, if you'll ever come back
wherever you've gone
whatever you're doing

i miss it all so

3rd Place If Only You'd Tell Me :entry: If only I could tell you that no one must be perfect.

I want to explain that you don't have to do everything. That's why you have friends, to ease the burden that leaves you on the floor, gasping for breath.

If I could only convince you that nothing you do must be perfect.

Nothing in life is perfect, and you know that very well, don't you? The tasks you are given, the weight you bear silently, are not simply obstacles that are to be carried out without fault, but tools to help further expand your horizons, increase your knowledge, and hone your abilities. 1st The Time of Your Life "Do you have the time?" He asked, matter-of-factly
As if he weren't hanging upside down
From the branches of the maple tree next to Asbury Station.

I debated for a moment,
And pulled out my pocketwatch instead of my cell phone
To let him know that it was twenty past two, give or take.

It won me a smile, which I counted as a small victory,
And went to go about my day.

He was there the next day too, and asked me again.
"Hey, pocketwatch girl. Do you have the time?"
It was five after ten and I told him so.
He smiled again, and I told him to be careful not to fall.

The third day, I heard his voice on the way to work.

Feature and Tribute to Creaking-Door

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 23, 2012, 9:09 AM

As I am weeding through the people I watch, I've been going a bit slow, but I'm being thorough this time.  I regret that last time I may have unwatched people I had meant to keep watching.  There should be an easier way to do this.  I mean, I didn't realize that it's easy to just go to the person's page to unwatch them...so it's better this time around.  Anyway, I'm going alphabetically, and pairing up what I'm doing with what is still in my watchbox so I can in turn look at everything there before I delete it.  :) Dedication, my friends.  :blowkiss:

Through this process, I noticed a great dA writer has left us.  His profile is still up and going so you can enjoy his lovely works, but he is no longer active because of health issues.  I thought I would dedicate a space in my journal to him.
:iconcreaking-door:
His rhyme and rhythm is outstanding, and he's always got a great twist in his pieces that either shocks you into laughter and smiles or some other unexpected reaction.  I love reading his stuff!  Take a look at some of my favorites from him, including his last piece written as a farewell.
Did you ever 2 Have you ever touched the wind,
Watched a shadow growing tall,
Have you heard a flower open wide,
Or kissed a waterfall?

Have you argued with an echo,
Or plunged a deep abyss,
Climbed a hill, embraced a cloud,
Sang to daffodils in bliss?

Have you plucked the eye of storm,
Invoked a devil's curse,
Tried to hold the tide back,
Stopped an avalanche, or worse?

Have you seen an angel's wings,
Swam an ocean's mighty swell,
Explored the deepest forest,
And danced where faeries dwell?

Then why don't you stop dreaming,
These things will cause you strife.
Get your ass right off that bed,
And get a friggin' life!
Can you Can you hear my thoughts
In the clamour of your day
Or at the chill of new dawn
Will you hear what I say?

Can you interpret my sighs
And know what they mean
Accepting a truth
Even though they're unseen?

Can you feel my presence
Wherever you might be
And know that I'm here
And can never flee?

Can you see me in daydream
At those times that we shared
Close moments together
Proving that we cared?

Can you sense my whisper
As you fall asleep
And dream once again
In shadows that weep?

Can you hear my voice
Inside your head
Will you ever forget me
Now that I am so dead?
A fractured love She leaned against a gnarled oak tree, dank air a misty cloak.
Let her tears run freely, into its trunk did wetly soak.
A sound came from her lips, a drawn-out mournful cry.
Low clouds echoed it back, thrown down from angry sky.
Her wail vibrated strong, thro' long valley and over lake.
Until it reached a cabin, to snatch her lover wide awake.
His sudden guilt for infidelity did strike that lover strong.
He groaned aloud his true repent for in truth saw he was wrong.
Had lightly spurned her faithful care, was blind in every way.
Perhaps too late he'd known true love, and swore to save this day.
Threw on his clothes and rushed outsid

and his farewell
Season's song Goodbye my friends, it's hard to die,
When all the birds are singing in the sky.
But I've watched my seasons run,
Now my seasons are all done.

But there were things that I've heard,
Like a new-born baby cry,
And in warm summer air,
Two lovers softly sigh.

Goodbye to streams and autumn trees
Where young girls swirled and all the children played
Full of life and hope and dreams
Now I must face Grim Reaper's blade.

Time is near to let go,
I feel no sadness or no pain.
But remember well the touch,
Of a summer's gentle rain.

Goodbye to you, my special one,
You brought more warmth to me than any sun.
When you first touched my hand

Make sure and browse through more of hims pieces.  He never fails to make me smile or cry. :)  He shall be missed.
