MY RECENT FAVS, PEOPLE, THEY'RE AWESOME!

Broken WingsSeasoned by rainbows and glitter and dust,
Watching birds soar through blue skies
And losing the rust I gathered on tattered wings,
That I have carried with me, intending to fly.
Deafened by the roar of thunderous falls,
The calls of mountain songs and
The hush hushes of mice on the forest carpet;
Hearing only the whispers of trees.
Feel the wind in my hair,
Run through meadows bare-footed.
Sing so quiet that no one will hear or
Dance so little that no one will see.
No one could touch (break) me.
Meet pixies and have tea-parties with fairies,
Set balloons free and capture the gold-dust we call light,
Save it until my skies are grey and then,
And only then,
Release it to brighten the night.
Yet the dust clogs my wings,
And the rust breaks me apart.
The light blinds me in the darkest night,
And the bars of my prison restrict what little sense I have.
I sing so loud yet still no one will hear.
I dance so entrancingly, yet still no one will see.
We say, but don’t mean.
